The Hauchzart Ensemble are a transatlantic duo who haven´t yet met in person. Matt Getchell is a prolific electronic musician from Portland, Oregon, also active in the local improviser´s scene, Wilfried Hanrath, member of an improvising ensemble and a free-style rock band, living in Wuppertal, Germany. Living in different timezones, Matt goes to bed when Wilfried gets up – still they manage to create their Hauchzart – style which is widely spread from abstract to technoid rhythms, preferrably jazzy. Their music is based upon the electronic sounds – and lately also rhythms – Matt sends. Wilfried weaves them into hauchzart – songs with structures and textures that are sometimes melodic and romantic and at other times wild and fierce, and mostly combining both. From the beginning they invited friends to join them...so their next project will be their fourth album featuring those tracks.
